Frequently Asked Questions
Interested in getting started? We answer your most frequently asked questions below.
Pilates is a collection of exercises designed to improve posture and body alignment. Regular exercise will
improve your flexibility, muscle strength and endurance, joint mobility, core strength, body awareness,
coordination, and overall muscle tone. Pilates exercises relieve tension and lighten the load on your spine
and joints by correcting muscular imbalances caused by poor posture or muscle misuse.
Proper alignment balances your skeleton, keeping your muscles at their ideal length and free of tension.
When your body is constantly out of alignment, it puts a lot of strain on your muscles, ligaments, and
joints. Improper alignment reduces your body's ability to respond to gravity, resulting in aches and pains
and restricted movement. Pilates teaches you how to correct your misalignments and allow your muscles to
work as efficiently as they should. When exercising, you should always strive to correct your alignment
because it has a direct impact on how effective your workout is.
Consistency is vital. Aim for two to three times per week. However, even if you only visit once a week, you will still benefit.
We recommend that you dress comfortably and in clothing that can stretch. We recommend that you wear tighter-fitting pants or tops so that your clothes do not hang or move in such a way that they obstruct the instructor's view of your form. And for footwear wear socks or grippy socks.
